The Ozmist Food Ultrasonic Humidifier atomises demineralised water into a 1–5 µm cool-mist aerosol via high-frequency piezo transducers, allowing near-instantaneous absorption into the air stream without wetting surfaces. Compared to steam humidifiers, ultrasonic units consume 90% less electricity per litre of moisture added and introduce no heat into the space — critical for cold-storage, textile weaving, and printing applications. Compared to spray-nozzle humidifiers, ultrasonic mist particle size is 5–10× finer, avoiding wet floors and equipment. The unit includes a stainless reservoir, hygienic UV pre-treatment on inlet water, and a digital controller with RH setpoint and modulating output. Available in wall-mount and floor-mount configurations from 3 kg/h to 40 kg/h moisture output. Fresh produce loses weight rapidly under low humidity in cold-storage rooms — a 2–4% weight loss over 7 days at 60% RH translates directly into gross-margin loss for the operator. Cold rooms controlled to 90–95% RH suppress transpiration and can extend saleable shelf life by 5–12 days depending on commodity. Ultrasonic humidifiers work at cold-room temperatures where steam humidifiers waste huge energy re-cooling the humidified air.
